Festa Shunxing / Shunxing Festival

Festa Shunxing / Shunxing Festival

The eighth day of the first month of the new year is the lower limit of the stars. It is the day of the Shunxing Festival, because the stars in the sky appear more visible, the elders of the family teach the youngest to recognize the stars and in the corners of the courtyard the lights are lit to adore the stars in the icy cold.

In ancient China, particular attention had been paid to the "sense of heaven and man": people have always said that "a star in the sky corresponds to a human being on earth", they thought that everyone in the mortal world corresponds to a certain star in the sky.

Doesn't matter if people go to the temple or not to enter Xiangxi Xingjun (ie Shunxing), after the stars have ascended into the sky, each family holds a ceremony. When you offer a star, you must put a "golden lamp" (light yellow flowers called "bright flowers") on the desk, on the stove, on the threshold, on the pot, etc. and turn it on, to keep away any misfortune.
