Il Ching Ming Festival
assieme alla Festa delle Barche, alla Festa della Primavera, alla
Festa di Mezzo Autunno sono noti come le quattro feste tradizionali
cinesi piu importanti. Il 20 maggio 2006, su dhichiarazione del
Ministero della Cultura, è stato approvato che anche questa festa
venisse inclusa nell'elenco dei primi siti non materiali del
patrimonio culturale nazionale cinese.
The Ching Ming Festival along with the Boat Festival, the Spring Festival, the Mid-Autumn Festival are known as the four most important traditional Chinese festivals. On May 20th, 2006, according to the Ministry of Culture's declaration, it was approved that this festival should also be included in the list of the first non-material sites of the Chinese national cultural heritage.

Ching
Ming has been containing valuable indications for agricultural
production since ancient times. Thanks to the warming of the climate
and the increase in rainfall, it is the best time for spring
agricultural work. Trees planted before and after 清明
Ching
Ming, thanks to spring rains, have a high survival rate and grow
rapidly. Therefore, in some areas, people call 清明
Ching
Ming "Arbor Day".
In molti
luoghi, dopo che le cerimonie sacrificali sono state completate, i
cibi sacrificali vengono mangiati. Si usava panini al vapore con
pasta bianca, con noci, giuggiole e fagioli al centro: il piatto era
formato a forma di drago e un uovo era posto nel centro del corpo del
drago. Era il simbolo di felicità per il ricongiungimento familiare.
A Shanghai, secondo vecchie usanze, si utilizzando ceste di vimini
per conservare ed essiccare le torte a vapore utilizzate per le
cerimonie. Queste torte, fritte, vengono mangiate all'inizio
dell'estate e si dice che i bambini, dopo averle mangiate, non
avrebbero contratto alcuna malattia estiva.

Steamed buns were used with white pasta, with walnuts, jujubes and beans in the center: the dish was shaped like a dragon and an egg was placed in the center of the dragon's body. It was the symbol of happiness for family reunification. In Shanghai, according to old customs, wicker baskets are used to store and dry the steam cakes used for the ceremonies. These cakes, fried, are eaten at the beginning of summer and it is said that the children, after eating them, would not have contracted any summer illness.
