(lunar calendar), which this year falls on May 3rd.
The history of the earliest celebration of the Buddha's time is not particularly marked. They celebrate the birth in many countries and the regions, including mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Mongolia, Tibet, South Korea, Japan, Vietnam and other places. Historically, due to the conversion of the calendar and according to different Buddhist scriptures and spread to different regions of the formation of the tradition, on the Gregorian calendar date the gap is very large.
Tre giorni di celebrazioni sono dedicati a questo evento. Three days of celebrations are dedicated to this
event.
Believers will go to the temple to attend the Buddha's wash, with flowers and fruit offerings.
In alcuni luoghi la tradizione locale prevede che le statue vadano in piazza, posti su un elefante o su barche. Il tempio sarà aperto per i credenti per bruciare bastoncino d'incenso e per avvicinarsi alle statue di culto.
In some places the local tradition foresees that the statues go to the square, placed on an elephant or on boats. The temple will be open to believers to burn incense sticks and to approach the worship statues.
Oggi in alcuni regioni cinesi spesso s’introducono abitudini da feste popolari, come drago e danza del leone, lanterne e persino petardi.
Today, in some Chinese regions, habits of popular festivals such as dragon and lion dance, lanterns, and even firecrackers often come into play.
