Teaching Chinese Italian language

Teaching is my hobby and my new job.
When I started learning Chinese more than 10 years ago, I did not expect this to be my job after retirement. At that time I just wanted to know a new language, no importance whether Japanese or Chinese, my hobby has always been the study of foreign languages.
After the first year, when I was not too busy to learn, the result was not so good. As the second year  started, I had a lot of trouble.
After five years, I decided to go to study in Beijing. Just back I had the opportunity to start teaching. I earned no money, but being busy with teaching gave me more satisfaction.
Moreover, in this period I met a lot of Chinese friends, they helped me teach and let me play with them.
Now, I go on studying with an art college student, she let me know and understand contemporary novels of China's writers while I help her write her diploma work. We two are able to deeply understand these great countries, China and Italy.

In Milan, Italy I became a Mandarin teacher, as well as Italian language teacher of Chinese.
As the Chineses study Italian with me, they can also get acknowledged to this country's art, history and culture.
Finally, among my friends there are a few journalist, musician, poet, painter etc. and
I would like to introduce you.

Cinese on-line nuovi corsi / On-line new Chinese courses

Chi fosse interessato potrà contattarmi qui, su facebook clicca qui oppure privatamente, scrivendomi a: teresaracconta@yahoo.it

Buon inizio d'anno a tutti!

Va in pensione e realizza un sogno / Just retired, an old dream comes true

"Just retired, learn Chinese and teaches Italians: so Teresa realized the dream" with this title a blog published a brief interview that highlights the realization of a dream. Here it is:

"Before knowing the Chinese language I was a person of great interest and great culture, who did not realize it and above all did not have much self-esteem" is how describes herselfTeresa Kozak, beautiful 66 year old Hungarian woman, Milanese by adoption. After a long career in a bank decides to get back into play: instead of enjoying the much-desired retirement, she became a teacher of Chinese.

"I decided to enroll in a course in Chinese - tells a b-hop - because during a train journey that brought me to Vienna to meet my brother, had a long conversation with a Chinese gentleman who worked in Milan: I was completely fascinated by the way of describing his habits. I thought, this is my way. "

Back to Milan, she enrolled in a school of Chinese, five years of study, 4 hours a week. "Once all studies were over - she continues - in order to not to lose all the work done, I decided to reverse course and become a teacher on my turn. The decision was not easy. But the fact to teach for free had removed some responsibility. The average age of my students is ranging from 55 up. I am proud of them, they are very passionate about the language, especially women. They manage to get good results both in writing and in speaking. "

for Teresa      "Teaching is the best job in the world",

with its pros and cons: "In the case of the Chinese language we must understand the enormous difficulties the mind of a Western-educated person is compelled to face, when preparing to know the other side of the world - she explains -. Teach Italians a foreign language is something special. Once you find the right channel to communicate, they learn so well, paying off all the hard work done. "

In front of the BLCU (language Peking University)

Teresa invites us not to stop the stereotypes when you do not know a reality: "I would recommend my way to all those who have a strong motivation to teach: I think that Chinese is the present. Of course, to understand a language in its entirety it would be good to go to the places where it was born. I have been to China three times and I understand that the Chinese fear the dragon, love to eat out and prefer the red color as well-wishing. But living in close contact with them I understand that China does not end there. "

C'era una volta / Once upon a time

Vediamo qualche esempio:
Ho sentito tua figlia parlare in inglese una volta; parla molto bene.

Sei mai andato all'estero? Sono stato a Londra una volta.

Sono stata in Cina quattro volte.

Ci siamo menati tante volte, ogni volta vinceva lui.

Ho provato le scarpe nuove molte volte, eppure mi fanno ancora male.

Abbiamo parlato dei complementi di durata o quantità  "volta":  次、遍、趟、下, la prossima volta parleremo dei classificatori "volta":  次、遍、趟、下.
***************************************************************************

Once, twice, a thousand times - why does the Chinese language have so many different words for "times"?
Today we speak of complements of quantity "times":
Here are some examples:
I heard your daughter speak English once; she speaks very well.
I saw the Peking Opera twice.
Have you ever gone abroad? I was in London once.
I've been to China four times.

What do these situations have in common? Here actions are repeated with no special mention. So far, so good.
What happens if I want to give a more specific aspect to one of these events?

This book I read it twice before read it thoroughly once.
Please repeat it one more time, I did not understand.
When I was in Beijing, I went to see the Great Wall twice.
The teacher asked my parents to come already twice this year.

I tried the new shoes many times, yet still make me sick.
I did not want to stop, only after having brought so many times I stopped.

Seen the difference?
When it comes to a repeated action without particular additional aspects, the complement "次" is suitable "
This book I read it twice" (这本书我看了两次). When, however, I want to emphasize that an action was carried out from start to finish, the complement "遍" is a must "before read it thoroughly once" (才看完一遍). The same happens when the action involves the entire process, eg: "Please repeat it one more time, I did not understand." .
In contrast, when it comes to actions involving verbs of motion, an ordinary action can be repeated also with the use of complement "次": "When I was in Beijing, I went to see the Great Wall twice." . When, however, the repeated action has the sense of return, the complement "趟" is more appropriate: "The teacher asked my parents to come already twice this year" (今年老师已经让我父母去学校两趟了).

Finally, in some cases the complement "次" is suitable "I tried the new shoes many times, yet still make me sick." (我 试 了 这 双 新 鞋子 好 几次 了, 但是 还是 很不 舒服), while in the case of giving the barrel it must be replaced by the complement "下" "I did not want to stop, only after having brought so many times I stopped."

Outside of this context, we find some expressions that use the word "times":

The number of students of the school this year was multiplied by three (increased twice).
When finished elementary school, the teacher said once: ...

We spoke about complements or quantity "times": 次, 遍, 趟、下,  next time we will speak about  次, 遍, 趟、下 measure words.

Storia di ordinaria amicizia / Short story of a common friendship

My Chinese girlfriend is writing the thesis, I help her translate it into Italian. To do that I need to understand exactly what she means.

We talk about Zhuangzi, Buddhism, Taoism. Whenever I can go deeply into the ideas she has expressed, I seem to have found a little treasure that shines in the darkness.

We speak in three languages: Chinese, English, Italian, use dictionaries and our fingers, until we both come to get the right meaning.

When we finish the work we are tired but happy, indeed, I say "I am proud to be able to help you."

She doesn't understand the Italian word "orgoglio"  (pride), she seeks the word using the translator, even the Italian word is difficult for her. I want to help her but I don't wear glasses and so I try to spell it: "or" with the r, "go" and then "glio" with g, l, i and o  - ORGOGLIO.

自豪

Quando esce la parola, lei capisce. Spalanca gli occhi e mi domanda incredula: "E' vero?"
When the word comes out she gets the meaning. Eyes widen she asks me incredulously: "Is it true?"
