Festa del Doppio Nove / Double Nine Festival

上升高 "Shangsheng Gao"

The Chongyang Festival (Double Ninth Festival) falls on the 9th day of the ninth lunar month, this year on October 9.The Book of Changes, 易经 Yi Jing (or 周易 Zhou Yi, from the name of the Duke of Zhou) gave the male value 阳 (Yang) to the number "9". Being the 9th lunar month, the number nine doubles, leading to 重 Chong (double)  阳 Yang (nine), thence there's the name 重阳 "Chongyang".The pronunciation of "9"(jiu) , recalls doubled 久久 (jiujiu)  meaning "long" or "long life." Such name gives to the celebration auspicious meanings. As per the legend, during the Eastern Han Dynasty a man named Hengjing managed to fight evil clumbing a mountain. For this reason, the Chongyang Jie is also called "Ascending Heights Feast".上升 高 "Shangsheng Gao".高 "gao" has the same pronunciation as 糕 "gao" (cake), therefore on this day people eat the "Double Ninth Cake", 重阳 糕.The 9th day of the ninth lunar month is also the blooming chrysanthemums' period. In China there are many kinds of chrysanthemums: people have been loving them since ancient times.People also love drinking chrysanthemum wine, women put the flowers into their hair, or hang them on the windows and around doors. In 1989, the Chinese government has dedicated this festival to the older people, thence the name "Senior's Day". The younger generations lead the elderly relatives to go for walk in the mountains or give gifts.

The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, falls every year on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month. This year is 15 September.
The origin of the Mid-Autumn Festival is lost in mythology.
It is said that one day ten suns appeared in the sky. People on the earth could no longer bear the heat and turned to Emperor Yao (2000 BC). The emperor then decided to call Hou Yi, the mighty expert man, ordering him to hit nine of them. In fact he left one. Following Hou Yi became a tyrant and stole the elixir of immortality from the Queen Mother of the West. The beautiful Chang 'E, his wife, in turn stole it away to save the people from
Hou Yi's tyranny and, once drun, gravity had no effect on her. So she flew to the moon.
As soon as people on Earth knew what had happened, he wanted to thank the goddess Chang 'E, and to appeal to have happiness and tranquility.

It is also said that Hou Yi built himself a palace on the sun and they meet each other on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month of every year.
The complementarity of the Moon and Sun is the foundation of Taoism with the symbols of YIN 阴 (Moon) and YANG 阳 (Sun).

We know that already during the Song Dynasty (1127-1279) "moon cake" were already offered. Today people are all together, eating moon cakes and observing the full moon that this time of the year is very bright due to its distance from Earth.
The Mid-Autumn Festival was considered a traditional festival until the Tang period (618-907), became official during the Song period (960-1279). The popularity, almost up to the Spring Festival, reached only during the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) Dinasties.

Novità anno 2016 / 2017 - News for 2016 / 2017

https://www.youtube.com/watch?list=PLzIl5F450aWJFx4oNAhyw0h5RrCqmzIn8&v=aTTVo85Ae1w

***********************************************************
For anyone wishing to start studying the Chinese language the courses offered on the market are many. Ours is not so different from the others. We are spoiled for choice.

News for 2016/2017 What is it?

This year we have thought of all those students who have taken courses, learned grammar but who have difficulty to understand and make themselves understood, both orally and in writing.

After identifying this recurring difficulties, we decided to prepare an ad hoc course.

What purpose it aims to achieve?

A) help students understand the written language and express themselves in Chinese more easely
B) make more fluent oral language and at the same time helping students understand what the Chinese teacher says.

How?

A) Written: one hour of lesson is devoted to read facilitated original novels. The reading highlights the difficulties of students and allows the teacher to remedy them. At the same time, based on the reading, students are encouraged to express themselves correctly, writting small composures.

 B) Oral (one hour lesson): with the use of DVD containing short dialogues the students are invited to make their expressions gradually more complex. On the basis of the dialogues students, in turn, expressed themselves in autonomy.

C) Oral (one hour lesson every two weeks): with the teacher's help native speakers promote the talks in class, keeping in mind the material acquired during previous lessons.

For whom is the course?

The level required to participate in the lessons is not well defined. Of course more it's high, more it's fast learning. However, even students with a few courses behind may benefit from it. We think of all the students who have attended and / or continue to attend Chinese language courses.

Complementi Risultativi Parte 4 (ultima) / Resultative Complements Part 4 (the last)

Siamo arrivati all'ultima parte dello studio dei complementi risultativi.

Tā dì dìzhǐ ne? Jì zài běnzi shàng ne.
Il suo indirizzo? L'ha lasciato sul quaderno.

Dàyī fàng zài xiāngzi lǐ, méiyǒu? Il cappotto è nel baule?
Tā de diànhuà hàomǎ xiě zài zhǐ shàng ma? Hai scritto il suo numero sulla carta?
Nǐ fùmǔ zhù zài yīqǐ ma? I tuoi genitori vivono insieme?
Lǎoshī zhù zài nǎge chéngshì? In quale città vive il maestro?

Wǒ gāi fù gěi tā qián le.
Gli devo dei soldi.

Qīnqīmen, dàigěi xiǎo háizi lǐwù! Cari parenti, portate i regali ai vostri bambini!
Sòng gěi tā shénme lǐwù hǎo? Che regalo dovremmo dargli?

Zúqiú yùndòngyuán jiēzhù le qiú. *
Il calciatore ha bloccato la palla.*
* osservate come cambia significato il verbo "接" "jiē".

Qīzi túrán tíngzhù le huàyǔ. All'improvviso la moglie smise di parlare.

Nǐ zěnme méi liúzhù nà wèi kèrén? Perchè non hai trattenuto l'ospite?
Tā túrán zhànzhù le. All'improvviso si fermò.

Dìdì xuéhuì le yīngwén.
Mio fratello ha imparato l'inglese.

Wǒ xiǎng xuéhuì dǎ lánqiú. Vorrei imparare a giocare a basket.

***********************************************************************
Now let's see what happens if we use "在" "zài" (to be situated) with resultative function:
Tā dì dìzhǐ ne? Jì zài běnzi shàng ne. His address? He left it in the notebook.
Dàyī fàng zài xiāngzi lǐ, méiyǒu? The coat is in the trunk, isn't it?
Tā de diànhuà hàomǎ xiě zài zhǐ shàng ma? Have you written her number on the paper?
Did you hung on the wall the picture painted by my friend?
Nǐ fùmǔ zhù zài yīqǐ ma? Do your parents live together?
Lǎoshī zhù zài nǎge chéngshì? In what city lives the master?
Adding to the main verb another verb, you also get a resultative complement. Here we add "通" "tōng" (lead, transmit) to the main verb "接" "Jie" (take -the telefonata-). Here is the result:
Tāmen kuài yào gěi nǐ jiētōng diànhuà le. They are going to forward the call to you.
For the first time we see the use of "给" "gěi" (give, the word "with") as a resultative complement:
Wǒ gāi fù gěi tā qián le.I owe him some money.
Qīnqīmen, dàigěi xiǎo háizi lǐwù! Dear relatives, bring the gifts to your children!
Sòng gěi tā shénme lǐwù hǎo? What gift should we give him?
My friend bought me  delicious things to eat.
We can use the verb "住" "zhù" (stop) with risultative function:
* Zúqiú yùndòngyuán jiēzhù le qiú. * The footballer has blocked the ball. *
* Observe changes in the meaning of the verb "接" "jiē". In one sentence we had seen "接通" "jiētōng" "pass" (the phone call), while here "接住" "jiēzhù" is "block" (the ball).

Qīzi túrán tíngzhù le huàyǔ. Suddenly his wife stopped talking. Remember his telephone number?
Nǐ zěnme méi liúzhù nà wèi kèrén? Why you have not withheld the guest?
Tā túrán zhànzhù le. Suddenly he stopped there.
Finally, we can also use the auxiliary verb "会" "huì" (be able) as resultative complement:
Dìdì xuéhuì le yīngwén. My brother learned English.

Wǒ xiǎng xuéhuì dǎ lánqiú. I would like to learn how to play basketball.
Háizimen dōu xuéhuì qí zìxíngchē le. Children learned to ride a bike.

In conclusion we can say that adding suitable resultative complements not only give a clear sense of the result of the action, but they can completely change the meaning of the sentence. With this we made a significant step towards the acquisition of the means of expression in Chinese language.

Complementi risultativi Parte 3 / Resultative Complements Part 3

Abbiamo visto come cambiano i verbi  "看" "kàn" (guardare) e  "听" "tīng" (ascoltare) in presenza di tali complementi.

Nǐ de shū wǒ kàn wán le. Ho finito il tuo libro.

Wǒmen gāngcái chī wán fàn le.
Abbiamo appena finito di cenare.

Tā chàng wán gēr le, méiyǒu? Lui ha terminato la canzone?
Tāmen sài wán qiú le, méiyǒu? Hanno finito la partita?
Kěnéng bàn wán shǒuxù le. Forse ha finito con le formalità.

Nǐ kàn dào le nà kē shù, méiyǒu? Sei riuscito a vedere quell’albero?
Wàibian háizimen zài chànggē, nǐ tīng dào ma? Fuori dei bambini stanno cantando, li senti?

Vediamo come si comportano altri verbi:

Wǒ xiǎng pǎo dào nà kē shù nàli.
Voglio correre fino a quell'albero.

Tā zhōngyú zhǎodào gōngzuò le. Ha finalmente trovato lavoro.
Nǐ jiàndào línjū le, méiyǒu? Hai visto il mio vicino?
Dàxué de xìn nǐ shōudào le, méiyǒu? Hai ricevuto la lettera dell'università?
Zuótiān xuédào dì èrshísān kè le. Ieri abbiamo studiato fino alla lezione 23.
Zhōngyú mǎidào le nà běn shū. Sono finalmente riuscita a comprare quel libro.
Nǐ yī zǒudào chēzhàn, jiù děng wǒ ba. Arrivato alla fermata, aspettami!
Tài wǎnle, gāi mǎshàng huídào gōngsī le. E' tardi, devo subito tornare al lavoro.

Bù dài yǎnjìng nǐ hái néng kàn qīngchǔ ma? Ci vedi anche senza occhiali?
Nǐ mànman shuō, wǒ duō néng tīng qīngchǔ. Se parli lentamente, sento tutto chiaramente.

Vediamolo in altre frasi:

Lǎoshī zǒngshì shuō qīngchǔ, shì ma? Il maestro parla sempre chiaramente, vero?

Vediamone alcuni altri esempi:

Nǐ ná hǎo le xínglǐ, méiyǒu?
Hai preso la valigia?

Qǐng dài hǎo zìjǐ de dōngxī! Prendete le vostre cose!
Tā hái méi fàng hǎo xiāngzi ne. Lei non ha ancora sistemato il baule.
Háizimen zhùyì! Shōu hǎo chēpiào! Bambini prendete i vostri biglietti!

Zhè lù qìchē nǐ méi zuò cuò ba?
Non hai, per caso, sbagliato autobus?

Zuìhòu de wèntí nǐ méi huídá cuò ba? Non hai risposto male all'ultima domanda, per caso?
Yǔfǎ shū nǐ méi ná cuò ba? Hai sbagliato il libro di grammatica, vero?

Aggiungiamo qui l'uso dell'aggettivo "对" "duì" (giusto), in qualità di complemento risultativo:

Eccone alcuni esempi:

Zhèxiē shēngcí nǐ zěnme méi fānyì duì?
Come mai non hai tradotto bene queste parole nuove?

***********************************************************************
With Part 3 we are meant to continue and deepen what has been learned about the use of resultative complements: Here are some new examples..
We have seen how the verbs "看" "kàn" (watch) and "听" "tīng" (listen)
change in the presence of such complements. Using these examples, let's complete the picture.
In Part 1 and Part 2 we had made some examples of the use of
resultative complement  "完" "Wan" (do an action until the end) with these two verbs:
Nǐ de shū wǒ kàn wán le. I have finished your book.
Tīng wán guǎngbò, yùndòngyuánmen jiù zǒu jìn lái le. Finished hearing the announcement, the athletes come immediately.
We can try with other verbs. Here they are:
Wǒmen gāngcái chī wán fàn le.We just finished dinner.
Nǐ zěnme hái méi xué wán nà shǒu shī? How is it that you have not yet finished studying that poem?
Tā chàng wán gēr le, méiyǒu?  Has he finished the song?
Tāmen sài wán qiú le, méiyǒu? Did they finish the game?
Kěnéng bàn wán shǒuxù le. Maybe he finished with the formalities.
Tāmen hái méi cānguān wán zhǎnlǎn ne. They have not finished the visit to the exhibition.
Xuéshēngmen fānyì wán le nà běn shū. The students have translated all that book.
We also saw the use of "到" "dao" (reach / arrive) with the two verbs "看" "kàn" (watch) and "听" "tīng" (listen):
Nǐ kàn dào le nà kē shù, méiyǒu? Were you able to see that tree?
Wàibian háizimen zài chànggē, nǐ tīng dào ma? The children are singing outside, can you hear them?
Let's see how other verbs work:
Wǒ xiǎng pǎo dào nà kē shù nàli. I want to run up to that tree.
Tā zhōngyú zhǎodào gōngzuò le. She has finally found a job.
